One of the reasons the kids loved the month of July so much was because they loved their Summer School Enrichment Classes. All classes were held at Brayden's School (Country Meadows). Each child took 4 classes. Brayden was in Chess, Legos, Math in Sports, & Keyboarding/Typing class. Brayden was surprised at how much he loved Chess; the class I signed him up for against his will. Our set is finally being used & Brayden drew his gold ribbon to be a Chess Champion. Too cute!
He ended up being quite good at it & begged us to play all the time so I'm glad I picked it. He also liked his Lego class because they built robots with motors & ran them with the computer. (Glad it was more involved then just putting legos together.) Math in Sports was taught by his swim teacher who is fantastic at teaching swimming & math. His keyboarding class was challenging but he liked it. In fact after 2 weeks he was given an empty keyboard paper & he had to write in all the letters & numbers that he could remember. I'm sure there are a lot of adults that would not do that well on that quiz. But he did very well. Here's his certificate from that class.
Shaelyn had 4 classes also:
Histories Mysteries, Money kids, Fashion Merchandising, and a Writing workshop. She loved them all! She's a huge history buff so I was sure she'd enjoy everything that is a mystery in history that they don't learn about at school. Money kids taught her a ton about the real world. I was impressed with this class because one day she was given play $ to run a household with and she had to allocate the expenses and plan her budget. She also on another day was given $30,000 of play money to put in the stock market and she had to choose which stock she wanted to buy & when to sell or keep it.
Shaelyn was in a fashion show at the end of Summer School Enrichment Class called Rainbow of colors. Here she is with one of her outfits.
