I ended up getting help from the tree delivery guys at 7:30am (just by asking them nicely to put it in the hole instead of next to the hole like their policy states). Thankfully they did! He even helped me make sure they weren't too deep too which I guess can kill the trees. Then I paid the Landscaping guys more $ to help me because the trees weighed more than I expected. Thankfully they let me borrow their tools & heavy duty cutters on the thick rope, wire, & burlap because the rope was thicker than I expected too. (Greg's out of town all week & I needed these trees in the ground) It was hard enough for me to even turn the tree much less move it anywhere. (250-300 pounds per tree apparently- no wonder why they didn't move.). I made 2 trips in my van to the compost pile. Shoveling almost 40 buckets full to bring back good soil for the trees. Hopefully they stay beautiful! Of course we planted them on the hottest day so far.
Front yard:
Coralburst -light pink & white flowers
Tina Crab- white blooms
View from street:
We removed the tall tree from the landscaping in front of the center of the house & had it re-planted on the far right side of the house. Then we planted the shorter, more full Tina crabapple tree near where it was. Hopefully our efforts will pay off next Spring.
Back yard:
Ruby Tears- Conversation Piece. Pink flowers, red berries
Red Jewel- white flowers, red berries
View from our Patio blocking out our neighbors patios in a nice way (since we like them both):
The Red Jewel will widen out to 15 feet.
