Yes I had to cut down all our Brussel Sprouts because it got too cold. So I laid them out on towels on our kitchen floor (to Greg's dismay).
Then I had to push my thumb really hard against each Brussel Sprout all along the stem to get it to break loose. Between each leafy stalk is a Brussel Sprout.
Have you ever tried to push a Brussel Sprout? Well it's a lot harder than I thought. An hour after I started I was done with all 4 plants & I only had a half of bowl full. In fact I don't think I will plant them again even though my daughter begs for them constantly. The $.99 cent bag in the freezer is worth every penny especially for how much space they take up in the garden. Of course I learned from my son that you can eat the leaves too & its like lettuce. Ironic thing is the lettuce tastes like Brussel Sprouts so its a bit weird eating the plant. We are going to use it all in a big pot of Vegetable Soup. It was Shaelyn's idea & I think it's a good one.
