It's the little things

I wanted a pretty planter for my BFF's mom who just past away for her visitation tonight.  So I texted my friend Jody  DiOrio who works at Greenview Nursery to help me because I knew I'd be short on time after driving the 4 hours to get back to Peoria. She texted back some pictures with different pots to choose, then various flowers, & she found a sweet card with an inspirational CD.  The best part was it was all ready for me when I got there. She waived the potting fee & there was extra greenery on top of the pot to make it prettier. It was all watered & in a box. George Piper at Greenview had even printed off directions on how to take care of it. I read it thrives on neglect. (Sounds like I should buy more of these plants for other friends I know.) Then Jody's husband, Dan DiOrio, just happened to show up right then to bring Jody lunch, so we had him take a picture of us. Then he sweetly carried the plant to my car. I hope I find friends like this in Milwaukee.

Here's a picture of the plant in my car for the ride to Chillicothe.  Its called a bromeliad & its prettier in person.

Here's a picture of us all dressed in dark colors for the visitation.

I'm excited to see my Best Friend again but I'm sad about her mom dying to make it happen. Hopefully now that we are closer we can see her & her family more often.
