Wow! Easter was 2 weeks ago & I'm finally getting a minute to post pictures. We had a fun weekend so I will try to recap.
The kids let me take there picture when they were all ready for church. We tried a new church on Sat night thinking there would be less people. We decided we wanted bigger but 7,000 members is too big for us, even on Sat. Night. Coming from United Presbyterian Church with about 515 members that was too big of change. The kids didn't like that they went up for communion & he showed them bread in their face while he talked to them & never gave the bread to the kids. Thankfully they didn't snatch it out of his hands. (I was searching for the gluten free wafer for me that was said to be on a center pew, so I had to cut out of the line & back in to get what I found out later to be wine after I chugged it in one gulp to drop my cup in the bucket. If I had known I might have savored it like the lady in front of me.) That might be their secret to grow their membership. ; )
Then we came home & colored Easter Eggs. Some the kids actually drew on before they were cooked but we had to stop that quickly after 2 ended up on the floor.
We took the natural approach using only cranberry juice to make purple, coffee to make brown, tea to make tan, green carrot tops to make green etc. I forgot to buy blueberries so we couldn't make the blue. It worked out great even though I screwed up & added water to all of the pans.(So the colors would have been more vibrant had I not done that, oops!)
The crackle look is intentionally done with a crayon ahead of time.
New Pajamas,
He was super excited over one present.
Here he is jumping up & down.
He received the brand new Wings of Fire book that was just published. And Shaelyn received a Barnes & Noble gift card to pick out one of the 5 books she wants. She also received this personalized bag that she loves.
Then they found 40 eggs around our house. They needed a bag (instead of baskets) because there were so many. They didn't want to change out of their pajamas early so our Easter Egg hunt was inside.
