Things we enjoyed about Canada- on our 2 year 1 month Anniversary from time we left.
Our highlights from the 3 years in Canada include a train ride to Jasper (with breakfast in a dining car); meeting my sister and her family in Banff; and going to Hoo Doo’s & Drumheller (dinosaur country) with my parents after they drove up here. Grandma Rosi watched the kids for a night while we went to a Roaring 20’s black-tie Gala in Fort McMurray. Then we all enjoyed an outing to Fort Edmonton and several outings to the massive West Edmonton Mall. We also loved talking with our family on skype but always felt far away. Maybe it was the 3 day drive home that was in the back of our minds. Although it did help that Shaelyn’s 1st grade teacher was from Kentucky so we talked quite a bit when I picked her up from school. (Although I still wish there was a bus for her to ride so I didnt have to drive so much in the treacherous weather.) She liked her piano lessons, ice skating & swimming lessons. She loves drawing! Brayden enjoyed his preschool that consists of gym time, school time, and swimming lessons all in one. He liked soccer too, which Greg and I attempted to coach with 12 kids (all 3 yr. olds). Besides driving the kids to school & activities and doing lots of laundry (due to more layers & an apartment sized washer), I enjoyed MOPS, scrapbooking, ballet bar fitness class, Zumba, and socializing with the other CAT wives. Greg was busy with Global Mining; traveling around Canada visiting oil sands with CAT dealers.
