Shaelyn & Brayden Ice Skating

My kids both learned to skate at age 5 without a skate walker or anything else to hold on to.
Today we saw many older kids out on the ice still wanting to use that skate walker since that's how they learned.  My kids were taught in lessons to get on your knees, then put one leg up and push both hands on that knee to stand up. The hard step then is to learn to skate or glide instead of walking on the ice.

Brayden just finished 4 lessons so both he and Shaelyn are improving every time they skate.  Here's some pictures of the kids on the little rink for today's outing at Servus Place.
We had so much fun as you can tell by the pictures since both my kids had huge smiles!

Laced up and ready to go!
Shaelyn remembers how to skate quite well even though it's been a while.

Helmet is on so I can go on the ice!

Ta-Da! California Twirl!

Oh no she's down!

And she's right back up again!

Mommy,"I think my blades need to be sharpened" said Brayden.

Fun times during Spring Break.

Brayden showing his name & stickers from lessons.

"My helmet is filled with stickers but I'll have to show you later; I'm too busy skating Mommy."

Brayden is all smiles since he's not falling down that much.

He's trying to skate more and walk less.

Brayden's got the hang of it now.

"No it can't be time to go already!"
